Let me start by saying welcome. As your instructor, I look forward to supporting your desired learning outcomes this semester.  
 
You will find that this course takes a strong focus on exploring you as an individual. A learning channel is built around growing your personal awareness, directly applying and integrating stress and self management strategies. In doing so you will deepen your understanding of what needs "to be managed" in your life as it pertains to stress, both personally and professionally.

  • You begin by completing two evaluations; one to assess your aviation personality and the second to take a closer look at your flexibility around stress.  
  • ​Each week you will explore and practice science-backed strategies that teach you how to best manage your stress levels.
  • ​You will be introduced to a unique five-step model for managing your personalized areas of stress and self management.
  • ​You will explore biological, physiological, and sociological influences on stress and demonstrate how these factors can have an impact on your personal well-being.

ProZone: A learned and practiced ability to flexibly manage stress.  This comes through the cultivation of awareness, and the application of stress and self management strategies that result in ascending as the person and professional you imagine yourself to be.
